THE APPROACH - We understand the demand for balanced neighbourhoods and the role they play in supporting families and communities.

We have endeavoured through design to promote the sense of community and celebrate the stories in shared spaces with a strong embedded sense of place:

“What is it about this place that makes it full of life, unique and special?”

The design has taken a peaceful approach that has identified and mapped existing land features of this place, it’s setting and character, and how these may contribute to enhancing the lifestyle experience.

Establishment of meaningful opportunities to improve connections and privacy and improve comfort.

VALUES BASED - “Sense of Place” is at the intersect of the values we experience and connect to a location

Our approach for this site needs to consider these primary considerations.

  • The design responds to site values and heritage with a sense of place and character

  • Creating an enjoyable and harmonious interaction with the community

  • Creating safe and comfortable spaces with quality-built form, connectivity, legibility, and way finding

By analysing, describing, and mapping the unique attributes of each space and how it functions.

We have determined how it can be utilised and embellished to improve form and function,

increase safety, and cater for residents and visitors alike.

KEY FOCUSES - As part of an integrated Eco Beach-Side Community

  • Maintain view lines back to the Straits and Fraser Island

  • Retain the framework of existing vegetation that creates an established setting for the estate, both on lot and in adjoining bushland reserves

  • Introducing boulevards and landmark trees at entry points, selecting these from endemic species in the local area and installing them semi advanced

  • Creating a consistent language of large lot fencing to create the look and feel of a rural residential eco beach estate

  • The Entry-Statement designs provide a focal point for roads into the estate with an integration that responds to the setting and materials

  • As well as the creation of focal points in the environmental reserve, with informal access for residents.

  • Integrating planted water basins as features accompanying the arrival sequence.
